This is the Moroso rebuild kit for the 4-vane. Simple to install. I put a little engine assembly lube on the bearing and soaked the vanes in race oil.

I am replacing my homemade breather tank with this slick new Moroso tank that was designed for the vacuum pump.

I took the oil pump apart and it looked great. Very minor noticeable wear. I will reinstall it and it will probably last me another two or three seasons. If you are a sharp viewer you can probably see the black spacer on the oil pump between the pump and the filter. That is the Canton Racing Products adapter that is attached to the Moroso Oil Accumulator. With this system I can pre-lube the engine before every start up, and it provides oil flow if my pressure drops under braking after a run.

I was looking the car over before I put the engine in and noticed my safety harness was going to expire in June 2006. I called M&R Safety Products and they “re-webbed” my existing harness for $39.95 plus some UPS fees. That is a great deal and they are now certified for two more years. Thank you, M&R.

How about fresh dates and a new webbing for $39.95! Thanks to M&R that is what they can do for you to keep the costs down a little.

We are getting closer to be ready for 2006. Next week it will be “garage time” until about 10 p.m. every night. First race is April 22 and I hope we get the DRO Project 4-Link out there for opening day.

Thanks to the companies who helped me get a start for 2006: Demon Carburetors, Hoosier Tire, Moroso, MSD, Comp Cams, Indy Cylinder Head, Stokes Repair and TCI.

I hope you will check in next month for a great article on data acquisition installation and what we can learn from it. Until then, have a great start to your racing season and stay safe my friends.
