Another unique feature of the 40-spline axles is what Strange calls the “radius ring”. Basically, instead of the axle bearing shoulder being machined onto the axle, as a sharp step the axle has a nice .156” radius machined onto it. Then a 17-4 stainless steel ring is slipped onto the axle and the ring also has a .156” radius that fits nicely against the axle. No sharp edges means a stronger axle.

Perhaps one of the best features of the Strange Pro Race 33-, 35-, and 40-spline axles is the five-year replacement guarantee, although I highly doubt I will ever need it. Honestly I think the Ultra Center and the gun-drilled axles are a work of “man art”. The quality is second to none and for what you get the price is fair also. It’s not cheap to have the best, but when is it ever? Some things are actually worth the price and I would say Strange Engineering offers a good value for top tier parts.
