Check Out That Chassis

Scott,

Last winter we installed your rear frame kit, four link, coilovers, dropped the body over the frame, moved the engine back 9 3/4 inches, and put coilovers on the front with stock a-frames. It is a 482ci, alchol injected, 16x15x33 hoosier tire, 4.88 dana 60, powerglide 1.76 first gear, 1.283-60 ft. 5.86 et at 118 mph 1/8 mile. The problems is that all of a sudden it will start to twist when launching (needs torsion bar) and I seem to have a lot of trouble tracking down the track. One run it will go straight, the next run anywhere between the 330 ft to 660 ft it will seem to want to pull to the right, until I get this straightened out I am leary of trying to race 1/4 mile tracks, thanks you for any help you could give.

P.S. Had a local PM builder scale it and set it up soft. The original front end would come up about 6in, now about a foot or more .

Again thank you.

Steve,

When you built the car did you change any of the front end settings? Just check your set up front and rear. The front end castor angle needs to be 6 to 10 degrees. You should also check that everything in the rear moves nice and free. And check the alignment of the rear in the car.
