I have a Blown Injected Altered on alcohol and the high gear clutches in my PG keep going out, which over revs my motor and I have dropped valves and lost a rod. What do you think??

Jerry, Illinois

Jerry, you need a transmission combination that matches your engine and car set up. The amount of holding power in your transmission is a combination of friction surfaces, bands, and clutches, along with main line transmission pressure. So no matter how many clutches you have in the transmission, without main line pressure it doesn’t matter. As with most things in racing, the combination is the key.

I want to use a nano system on my 460 Chevy, Wilson nitrous plate. I am spraying a 150 shot and would like to keep from changing bottles as often to keep car consistent and save time when going rounds, what are your thoughts on a nano system?

Thanks, Tom

Tom,

I have not had the personal opportunity to test the Nano but several of my clients use the system.
So far, other than initial cost, the feedback is positive. It's actually a real good thing for what you want to accomplish and sure beats the heck out of fooling with heaters.

It is important for you to be sure to read and understand their directions on how to use it effectively.  One thing that you can do in advance is weigh your freshly filled bottle before and after a pass to find out how much volume you use per pass.  This will tell you how many laps you should be able to go with the nano. IF it comes out to 9 passes I would put in a new bottle after 8 passes just to avoid the "gotcha" scenario.

Have a safe race.
