![]() This is the inside view of the Edelbrock Super Victor after port matching to the RHS heads and severe flange milling to make it fit. |
In the next article I will be covering the install of the Moroso “Enhanced” 4-vane vacuum pump (#22642). The billet valve covers will help maintain a leak-free seal in the engine allowing the vacuum pump to do its work.
To finish up I installed an Edelbrock Super Victor intake that I port matched and blended to get rid of sharp turns and edges. I had a heck of a time getting it to fit, though. It was a “virgin” intake that had never been cut and my block has been decked over .030” plus I think the RHS 58 cc heads are simply 64 cc versions that have had about .036” decked off of them -- so you do the math! I had to cut over .120” per side from the intake and then cut the bottom
about .060” where it runs along the end seals (silicone) just to get it to fit nicely with the heads. That is by far the most I have ever had to mill an intake! It fits nice though and the bolts line right up.
Well, there you have it. The engine is done, the TCI transmission is done (that’s a secret), and hopefully the next article will cover not only some more “Tech stuff” but I will have some track results! Stay tuned!
Remember, there is always hope. And, when in doubt… DO A WHEELIE!
