Counting the numbers

After the ADRL race in St. Louis it's no wonder the Boys Club in Glendora doesn't like Mr. Nowling. I have lived here all of my life and have raced at places like Alton Dragway, Pevely, MAR, and SLIR, now called Gateway. Never in 45 years of racing have I seen the type of turnout that took place this weekend. When a racetrack has to close the facility because they are at maximum capacity and cars were lined up from the track to the Arch waiting to get in!

Maybe the Boys Club should take a look at some of what Kenny is doing and start looking at other aspects of the GRAND scheme of things. If I recall correctly there were quite a few empty seats at this year’s NHRA National event in St. Louis.

And they turned them away in mass Friday and Saturday (at the ADRL event) and people actually had a good time and enjoyed some great racing.

Is that a dig at Bakersfield?

My only problem with the ADRL is no races in Southern California. I would go in a heartbeat! If the tightasses in La Verne would ever lighten up, I'd like to see an ADRL race in Pomona! Shoot, I'd even go to Fontana!

Say ta-ta to ten-five?

When are we going to change the 10.5 tire? Do we need to kill someone else or wreck more cars to figure out that the horsepower level has exceeded the tire? Get with the drivers and tire co. & settle on a 13 in or 12.5 tire.

Remember, nobody liked the 1000 ft strip but it saved cars, and wrecks.
