Good ole NHRA. Just got my membership renewal packet. Guess what? The $10.00 discount coupons that have been issued in the past for each race were not in the package. How arrogant can you get? It's not so much the ten dollars, as it is the principle. Times are tough, let’s stick it to the spectator? That's my last renewal.

Burk, you bring up some very good valid points in this Burk's Blast. It seems though that common sense has escaped the HRAs. I am sure that only a new sanctioning body such as the ADRL will have the presence of mind to adopt some of them.
I can only hope someone does. Thanks.

Hey Jeff, been meaning to send you an e-mail with comments about DRO but mostly wanted to say thanks for your candid perspective with each issue. With all of what’s happened in the sport and economy in recent months, 2009 should be an interesting year for drag racing.
Here's a question I've been meaning to ask you knowing you have your finger on the drag racing pulse. Let’s just say you had a pile of cash and the wherewithal to purchase the NHRA. What would you change or do now with the NHRA if you were running the company? I know this is a broad question but let’s just say you had a pile of cash, the stars and moon were aligned just right, didn't leave a stone unturned and could do it.
This will no doubt be a turn around year for drag racing obviously affecting the NHRA, ADRL and IHRA just to name a few and track owners all across the country. Most track operators will have to make adjustments to put "butts in seats" but what would you do at the corporate level to make the sport better for everyone during these times?

“Just Wondering: What would the average nitro junkie rather pay: Sixty dollars for a ‘big show’ nitro car on 90 percent, rev-limiter, and 1,000-foot tracks or $30 to watch a Nostalgia Nitro car on 98 percent, no rev limiter, racing a quarter mile?”
Burk, that's a "no-brainer" if ever there was one! Keep up all the GREAT coverage of the nostalgia teams and events.
Hell, let's get some people together and buy/reopen US 30 (where the GREAT ones run, run, run, run!!!)
