Money has always ruled
In response to John Martin's letter posted 9/2/08: "...where innovation and ingenuity was king (ala Garlits), and turning it into a corporate sport where the amount of money you can muster up determines how fast you can go. I preferred it the old way - people couldn't buy their way to fame and glory."
I'm confused; even back then going fast was a function of how much money they could muster up, and a lot of the best innovations were developed by guys who had factory backing. Seems to me the dynamic hasn't changed much, just the packaging and total dollars involved. Oh yeah, and guys got killed at a MUCH higher rate back then too.

Cars, not dragsters
Only problem with dragster is that no paying customers (spectators) want to see them run. Most people who I have brought to the track throughout the years hate them, usual comments "they're boring, and why is it so slow to leave the line". I think if Bob Moroso was still around he would make a race for door cars. I would love to see less million-dollar rigs and trailers, and more normal-type racers at race tracks all around the country.

What a kid!
Thanks for the (Chuy’s) overage. It was a race I truly wanted to contend, maybe next year we will get invited in the Nasty Benjamin AA/FA -- Dave Benjamin and Tom Padilla (driver).
I would like to thank our crew for a great job on our win at Chuys Fuel Altered Classic. Mike Boyd is one heck of a driver. I would especially like to thank our crew chief Jeremy Sullivan who makes all the tuning calls.
A proud father,

Knowing Nowling
Excellent! This interview has made a Kenny Nowling fan. I have thought he was stealing cars from the other sanctioning bodies, but I now see he is a man with new and fresh ideas. I wish him and the ADRL all the best. Who knows, maybe one day they will have Canada in their plans. Thanks.
