Back up on the soapbox
Well, well, Jeff, I am back on line, and probably not so appreciated by some. But hey, it is my opinion, so to hell with what they think. I finally secured enough plastic to be at KC, and will make it a point to stop by and see you and your team. I love NFC.
Divisional races, promoted or not, will never bring the high dollar capacity crowd that the nitro cars do. Now I do not know what would be wrong with a field of outlaw fuel altereds to bring the folks in, but the mentality is not there. Free tickets for Friday, if you come Sunday, would be a good start. Concessions are almighty anyway. So why not have paying customers forking out $50 bills for beer and burgers instead of hoping to cop $55 a day for nothing. Of course, depending on what the customer came to see. I am from an era where the customer came first, not the show.
Nitro qualifying fields, sorry, Jeff, but I would rather see as many cars as possible, regardless of the field size.
Now here is where I get into trouble. Pro Mod is cool, but if you close your eyes you can't tell them from alcohol floppers. Hoooo huuummmmm.
As far as any projected thoughts towards the IHRA, we need to see what Mr. Feld has in store. But Jeff, in all due honesty, when was the last time you saw an IHRA car run over 330, or even 320 for that matter? I love those guys, each and every one of them, and you know why, but the need to rotate the earth just isn't there.
The U.S. Nationals are very special now days. But I do believe you need to be a driver to appreciate those qualities. As a "shoe" myself, I would cherish Indy if I were able to compete.
Rookie of the Year should be applicable to all levels. The Lucas Oil family is an invaluable asset at every level. Since you know my position, I am anxiously awaiting the outcome of the Feld deal. I need work, and I am damn good, whether it be as an official, or somebody’s crew gopher. I just need to be a part of it. I can even drive every car class out there. I put no limits on my driving ability, with the appropriate amount of "laps" of course.
May I say "screw" the Army and the NHRA if they don't like the Air Force. After 20+ years in the AF, I think room can be made to accommodate the recruiting efforts of the AF. The NHRA should be opened armed to ANY new possibilities of sponsorship. NO DAMNED COMMUNIST MONOPOLIES. PERIOD.
As far as a nitro shortage, yeah right, like a gas shortage. Only a means to screw those that need it, to bring a higher profit. PERIOD. The damned cheats that will not bring the price back down are nothing more than politicians, cheats and liars. Especially those left wing candy coated communists SOB’s.
You know Jeff, I really get tired of repetition. The same old people winning all the time. If I hear one more word about Force's wreck I am gonna puke. If I hear one more comparison concerning Tony S. and legends like Garlits, I am gonna puke. Long live that young man by the name of J.R. Todd. I personally cannot figure out why teams see the need to try and match Tony's (or John's in the 90's) e.t.s. Just get me within 4 hundredths and let me do the rest. I believe in being a holeshot artist. The only reason these two individuals got as far as they did was because no one else had the balls to challenge them.
Well, my friend, I have now vented. I will stop by your pit in KC and say howdy. Doing it on plastic is better than not doing it at all. Take care, and if it were me, I would have limited NFC to 1977 and older. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Love your articles, man.
