Timing is everything

Remember, we tried the injected nitro dragsters in ‘05 and the timing was just bad... Always have and still think it would work. 500 inches and a 2:50 gear will get the numbers. It's a place to start and like anything in racing they'll just get faster... NHRA and IHRA are missing a big opportunity.

Aww, he’d just smoke it

Maybe it's time for Burk to stop wondering. He's getting on you know, and at our age it's time to kick back ands watch the grass grow?!

A Paul Page fan!

Paul Page is one who sounds like he's been there before, I like that style. He and Mike Dunn are a perfect match, that doesn’t insult my integrity watching the best drag racing coverage I've ever seen. Please don't mention Bob Frye’s name to the producers of the NHRA shows.   Ashley is doing fine, but if you want to see some real class and talent, get Mendy Fry on the show!

Xenophobia reigns

Ok, now it looks like from what I have been reading in Agent 1320 article that we are going to sit back and let Al-Anabi and his fellow countrymen take over drag racing like everything else. Good God, man, they have got to be stopped! They are getting their hands in little by little, and the Agent said that they have no budget. Well if you think that John Force is crazy now about money and keeping his team going, he will need to order Prozac dispensers to put on all his trailers, and all of Top Fuel also.

This is America and I don’t think that Mr. Parks needed someone like this to help make drag racing the sport that it is today. This is a time where money is a big factor here; it takes a lot of it to run a top notch Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Car team today. It has gotten to the point that it is the same for bracket racing; it is all that everyone can do (Thank God for sponsors, without them all would be in trouble) to keep going. Yes, it takes money to do what we love so much to do drag race, I know I have been there!

But Alan Johnson is a very smart tuner, no question about it. He should think about what he is doing and what it could do to the sport if this goes through. Think Pro Mod is a big class, lots and lots of cars out there, but take a look at the amount of Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Cars. I think it would take a long time for Al-Anabi to take over Pro Mod but NHRA Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Cars I don’t think it would take long. I believe there is more PM’s than NHRA’s Top Fuel and Nitro Funny Cars right now and also Mr. Al-Anabi this is not Thoroughbred Horse Racing this is AMERICAN DRAG RACING and don’t forget it!!

Thanks, DRO, you have the best coverage in drag racing!!

Be careful what you wish for

I can't wait to hear Jeff's opinion on the multi-million deal put together by Mr. Johnson. Where does the line form to find more Middle-East Oil Sheiks to sponsor race teams?

Cubic dollars

With Alan Johnson's announcement about his leaving DSR and having his own Nitro team with support from Qatar, do you suppose the ante just went up?

Will this be proof of the statement that "Cubic Dollars Rule"? Because those Arabs have more money than Gawd!

English TV addition

Before someone else picks me up on my point about drag racing never getting a mention on terrestrial UK TV... I checked this out and Channel 5 have the occasional half hour show from the FIA championship - always after midnight - usually after 1am. Better than nothing but obviously for hardcore fans and insomniacs only! Apologies if this was misleading.
