A project for the off-season
Well, the ending in three of four Pro classes this year was certainly exciting. NHRA got what they wanted by going to the countdown format. All in all, a wonderful end to a great season.
Now, folks, we have less than 2 1/2 months to get rid of Paul Page. Writing letters here will not do it. Page doesn't work at DRO. You need to write ESPN - that's who Page works for. I just sent them my letter.
Let's get Marty back - Marty and Mike are a great combination who know and love drag racing.

Kinda slow motion?
The Chase? What chase? "Shoe" had TF wrapped up early. Jeg had to qualify in Pomona, that gave him the championship. FC was the only one with some tension for Cruz and Wilk. Along with the 1000 ft racing, was not too interested in watching to see one fuel championship decided.

One word for Mark Rebilas's photos: WOW!
Really, I hope to see a lot more from him soon.

Why can’t we all be friends?
Why are some of the Republican racers/readers so embittered that they have to bring their baloney even here? Socialism in the pits and motorsports publishers not backing the conservative agenda? I thought this was a site about drag racing and the only thing conservative was how much nitro you could add.
I don't think either McCain or Obama even knows what drag racing is, much less will make it an agenda item. Motorsports is so low on the rank of greenhouse gas emissions sources it's of no importance.
This loyal American drag racer is wishing and hoping for the new president to succeed. If he fails, we all fail and that can't be good for the country or racing. Why anyone would hope he fails out of spite is just plain dumb.
I hope you pull the plug on all the nattering nabobs of negativism and keep this mailbox to racing items only.

This will teach us to read press releases more closely
To whom it may concern, you have posted that the restored 1980 Kenny Bernstein "Budweiser King" was a member of the "Cragar 5-second Club", which I am sorry to say that it is not. Kenny's 1981 Doge Omni is the car that made it into the "5-second Club".

Can it
Fairplex is a bunch of crooks. On the NHRA website and the signs outside the track, they say no glass bottles, no alcohol, small coolers ok. BUT once you’re in, they tell you at the security no cans of any kind.

Keep ‘em coming
This is a good thing; the most exciting racing is Pro Mod. I live in the Southwest and make the trip to Vegas in the fall to see the Pro Mods run. I only wish we could see more races in the west.

A geography lesson
I was amazed to see Steve Harker identified as residing in Florida. Guess someone ASSUMED there is only one Gainesville in the world. Ausie Steve and his lovely daughters are residents of beautiful Gainesville, GEORGIA.

Is it our fault the town naming councils of the country don’t show a little more… originality? Really, how many Springfields do we even need? That said, thanks for the catch.
