WHAT’S WITH BADER?

Interesting that the guy who controlled IHRA and axed nitro Funny Cars years ago has continued to have "barn burners" at his own track.

Always including NFC in his shows and now that he has divested his interest in IHRA he joins NHRA and gets a national event. There seems that something is totally amiss don't ya think.

WE DID IT FOR LOVE

I sure wish NHRA would wake up! If you had an Evan Knoll/Jim Tice combo at IHRA and they got serious about running a series that would provide an alternative to NHRA......bye-bye NHRA. I guess that would be the difference between people who love drag racing running an organization VS "suits" who are in it for the money or power or whatever - they sure don't seem to have that love of racing like Knoll & Tice and the rest of us die-hards.

SOMETIMES IT’S GOOD TO BE COLOR BLIND

I have a love/hate relationship with my color TV. By Indy, I can often tell who's up next even from thetop end cam pointed back at the starting line. Let's see, Capps is the green car, Force in the white one, WJ is in the deeper yellow GM car than Tommy Lee's Slammers car.... Alas, at Indy, new paint schemes come out of the woodwork! Capps is BLUE now? Force is SILVER? And then there are a few "limited time only" paint job, a la Doug and Scott Kalitta's Foose designs.

It's enough to drive me to drink. I think I'll get some coffee!

OPPORTUNITY FOR IHRA

Another money move for the NHRA...make all you can, eliminate the mid-range teams, and make the guys trying so hard to be seen obsolete. Huge opportunity for IHRA to make a major move...some people continue to stay with Wally. Thank God I left in ‘71.

ON SECOND THOUGHT. . .

I think the new system will work out pretty good, it will definitely make it more exciting for the fans. I'm sure there will need to be some changes made as the new wears off, but we will be fine. As far as cars outside the final eight not showing, they still do now, and have no chance of winning the championship. They can still be spoilers and test for next year. I did wonder at first, but after thinking on it I think it will be exciting.
