RAH, RAH, RO!

Thanks for running Ro McGonegal's multi-part story, "How Grumpy Got Grumpy". This five-star effort was interesting as well as greatly humorous in covering one of drag racing's most colorful as well as gifted figures. Ro obviously knows first-hand the voice that answers the phone in Malvern with nothing more than a growled:  "Jenkins!"

As usual, Ro did his own masterful job of capturing the crusty Jenkins mystique. For my two-cents, Ro continues to be one of the best writers ever to cover a drag race or probe the psyche of one of its icons.

So, when are we going to see Mr. McGonegal's next effort?

RUBBER BABY BUGGY BUMPERS?

Why don't drag strips have soft walls? Those roundy-round bastards have them and they don't go as fast as a Pro Comp dragster. It might have saved a life or two recently, and many in the future. Just a thought.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

I don't watch coverage with Paul Page, what a zero.

POWERade series should be nitro classes only, maybe add a class or larger field. Can you say AA/FA. Leave the gasoline for the horsepower wimps at NASCAR.

Pro teams should be limited to two cars in any, one class and no more than three in total. More events is good!
