THIS BUD’S FOR JIM

Response to Joseph Camp (Crying in his Beer):
Geez guy...Get over it! You're starting to sound like some of the F-1 fans. Drag racing isn't the only real motorsport in the world. I am, and have been a drag racing fan and participant (crewed or driven everything from bracket cars to T/F) for the last 44 years, Yeah, it's my #1 passion (sorry, honey), but if you seriously think that NASCAR drivers and crews talents are as you say "minimal," I suggest you open up your eyes and get in touch with the "real" world.

I understand that as a "fan" you maybe feel betrayed by Miller leaving drag racing, but believe me, Snake has a few other irons in the fire, (possible Gannacci sponsor - OOPS a NASCAR owner), and will come out of this loss, as will drag racing in general, just fine. By the way, maybe you weren't a fan when Coors and a couple of other brewers used to sponsor drag racing teams. You may want to wipe the egg off your face and start drinking "Bud."

MISSING THE POINT

Bring in the 17th qualifier (the old break rule) when the field is not full.

Armien, the point is that there are not enough cars for a full field. There is no number 17 if there is no number 16. – Ed.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Hey Jeff, your "Just Wondering" columns are among my favorite and as usual you raise excellent points that others just don't bring up.
How do you do it? Oh well, however you do it, just keep doing it.
Great work.
