DRIVING FORCE #1
Don't know how much Driving Force will help NHRA, but it was sad to see how removed John Force is from his family. Having done the NHRA tour for 13 years, I realize that it is a life unto itself. As a result of the commitment required to be successful, many racers’ personal lives suffer. Been there, done that. John looks too set in his ways to change now, even though he is obviously trying.

DRIVING FORCE #2
I, like many other drag racing fans, tuned in Monday night to watch the debut of "DRIVING FORCE." Although all in all I thought the show was pretty good, would someone PLEASE tell the IDIOTS at A&E to drop the street car engine revs and burnout sound effects when they show either Ashley's or John's car leaving the starting line. I thought it really cheapened the final product. There is nothing more impressive sounding than a nitro motor leaving the line.

DRIVING FORCE #3
All I can say, as a father of two girls and one boy, is that the years John has spent apart from his family has taken its toll on his ability to relate to those who do not work for him. I have always admired Mr. Force as a "driven" competitor, but the show opened a door which I for one did not want to see. That being a man who attempts to browbeat and
denigrate his girls ("I always wanted sons").
If one of his daughters wants to be a school teacher (if she knows at all what she wants to be at her young age), then so be it....If I had any advice: "Support your kids, John, for heaven's sake. Don't try to create clones. Your business is concrete and steel, and the walls will crumble eventually, but when your life is done, if your family ain't there, you got nuthin’. Your wife and the girls appear to be straight up, creditable people - so be proud of that."
I won't watch the show again, not because I don't like the racing aspect, but I am distinctly uncomfortable with JF in his domestic environment. He's a boor and a bully. I didn't need to know that...so no more.

PS. My family watched a part of the show and walked out before I shut it off.
DRIVING FORCE #4
I was not appreciative of some of the language used by Force, but I guess he is just an old truck driver. I think this show will take him down off the pedestal, and make him a flawed human being like you and I. I wonder if it will hurt his popularity?
I have two daughters from an ex-wife, and the youngest one dislikes me, while the eldest, (who was around me longer), thinks I am great. I understand John's troubles communicating with the family, and the fact you cannot run a family like you run a corporation has John on a new learning curve.
Thanks,
Richard Burbick
