HEE-HAW?
Agree with much of what has been said. NHRA is eerily similar to the Da Vinci Code type organization with secrets and no mention of the IHRA etc. Think they could better use the TV time they have by including some of the sportsman classes - SC SS CE etc to fill in the two hour shows rather than Selzi Sez, etc. I have to say some of the antics are worse than local car dealer commercials and seem to me to be almost embarrassing to watch drivers make horses asses out of themselves.

THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT?
Jeff, as usual, another stellar observation. I was just thinking the same thing after dozing off during the semi's of Pro Stock (my favorite eliminator). Why can't they do away with all the gobelty gook and give me a solid hour of wall to wall racing? I don't need all this human interest trash. I know Melanie, Erica and Hillary are very competitive racers, (but) who cares if one of them got their make-up right on race day. Drag racing has a lot of current problems (i.e. tires, timers, sponsors, etc.) but the Capps/Bazemore conflict isn't one of them!

AFRAID OF THE ANSWERS?
Jeff, I think you already know why ESPN won't ask pertinent questions you asked in your 5/23 column. I know Larry Morgan knows.

'LIVE' ISN'T THE ANSWER
Live telecast of NHRA drag racing? That dog won't hunt. The current telecast (taped and edited) is carefully designed to fit all the rounds of racing into the designated 3-hour timeslot. If you go live with a 3-hour timeslot, it would take one single oil-down to throw everything off and you wouldn't get to see everything. The way it is now is probably the best way to do it. (However, please dump Paul Page!)
