'BLOOD SAID IT

How about a class action lawsuit against NHRA for FALSE ADVERTISING. . .or at best MISLEADING advertising?

As the NHRA event comes to town here in Vegas this weekend, the TV ads are all over the place... if you're near an NHRA event, you've seen 'em too...they've got Tony Schumacher talking about 8,000 horsepower... Force, Capps ..Scelzi blowing up... and NITRO FLAMES galore!!!

There is one millisecond in-car shot of what appears to be a (so-called) "Pro" stock driver shifting gears.

Isn't it funny how the Glendora gang LOVES to give you all the NITRO you want in those TV ads (so they can get suckers to come out there), but then short-sheet ya after they've got your cash.

It would be like watching a NASCAR event ad on TV...and then going out there on Sunday and after the first 25 laps of the Nextel Cup cars, they bring 'em in and put the trucks on the track...and then after another 25 laps they bring em in and put the Busch Cup cars out there.

But NASCAR doesn't do that, do they? They enjoy tremendous success because they are smart enough to follow the first rule of business: "The Law Of Supply And Demand" (not only in what goes on the track at
showtime, but in the announcers' booth as well).

NHRA in their blind ignorance, arrogance, greed and lust for power are not going to pay any attention to that rule...they will continue to try to make water go up hill; THEY will MAKE you, the ignorant, nitro-hungry, low life "fan$" watch what THEY want you to. . .and you will listen to who THEY want you to. . .and YOU WILL LIKE IT!

If they really want to be like NASCAR (as they appear to want to), then they better re-read the Law Of Supply And Demand. . .which, in so doing, would ironically make them more like. . .drag racing at its best!!!

IN GOOD HANDS

A very good article. Makes more sense than anything else I've heard. Put the racing back in the hands of the tuner and driver.

SOLUTION: EIGHTH MILE (AGAIN)

Jeff, wouldn't 1/8th-mile tracks achieve the same thing? The pro cars would be out of the throttle long before the "oil-down" zone of the 1,000-ft mark! Just thinking.

WHO'S RESPONSIBLE?

C'mon ... this may be true over at IHRA, but most of us know the reason for all of the longer and senseless cleanups at NHRA events is solely because of two groups of people - crew chiefs & PRO! Until on-track decision making is restored to NHRA and not professional team representatives, this will not change.
