NOT TRICKLING DOWN
My buddy went to Vegas for the last Division 7 race of the year. There were 217 Super Gas cars in the field. He made it down to 7 cars and lost to last year’s champion. His payout was $125.00 with an entry fee of $150.00. I find the payout by NHRA to be insulting to the sportsman racers. However, it is as my buddy said, there were 217 cars so they don't have to worry about racers not showing up.

AN UNSOLICITED TESTIMONIAL
Just wanted to put in a plug for the new DVD "Lions, The Greatest Drag Strip". What a great history of Lions! Lots of footage that shows how the track came to be and what it looked like in the early days.
All I can say to Don Gillespie is, Bro! Hurry up with part 2!

TRY A PRACTICE TREE
I'd like to bring up something that's been mentioned several times this past year, namely all the red lights in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Some of the competitors actually have the
unmitigated gall to blame NHRA for them. I heard a couple of them say that NHRA needs to change the tree so that they don't red light. Excuse me? Did I hear you right? The Pro Tree has been the same for HOW long? In my opinion, NHRA shouldn't change anything. It's up to the racer to adapt. If your bike is jumping out too quickly, talk to your crew chief. It's not up to the sanctioning body to save you from your own reaction time. Holy cow.
Can't these people solve problems? Kurt Johnson fixed his problem with his car jumping too quickly. The bikes can certainly fix this sort of thing. It simply calls for a little ingenuity.
