WHAT’S IN A NAME?
I know the horse has been out of the barn for umpteen years, but if the racers/sanctions really want to have a performance-limiting tire, then there should be STRICT size measurements that no competitor can exceed: such as no more than 11 inches of contact width and no more than, say, 120 inches of rollout - UNDER ANY CONDITIONS, period. And maybe a limit on wheel width to go along with it - say 12 inches. That way the rules would reflect the spirit of the class.
Otherwise - get rid of the 10-wide designation for the class and call it what it really is - outlaw doorslammer.

SIZE SHOULD MATTER
What I don't understand is, if it is outlaw 10.5 then why aren't they using that size tire? Not a 10.75 or an 11.00 or above.
In my opinion if they were smart they would add a class that has all the same rules except they have to use a real 10.5 tire. Then see which class has the most entrants. Might open a few eyes....

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT
Don't you remember what happened to the original 10.5 wide class? Car Craft Magazine's SUPER MODIFIED -- it ran amuck (i.e. AA/SM) just like this outlaw class is doing. People with big money to spend will always ruin an "economy class."
