UNDERCOVER
Maybe Graham Light's memo isn't really expected to eliminate team orders? Maybe it is just intended to encourage the teams to hide it better (and keep quiet about it), so the fans don't notice?

IF YOU DON’T HANG TOGETHER
As usual you hit the nail on the head. All of the major motorsports are money-driven with little concern given to the racer. They know racers are consumed with what they do and use this to their advantage. The Pro racer is passionate and tied to contractual commitments and sportsman racers are just passionate. This is the problem, you could never get everyone together to buck NHRA. The reason I stopped racing was I got fed up with NHRA treating sportsman racers like a stepchild.
Keep up the good work! Drag racing is the greatest sport in the world.

IT’S NOTHING NEW
If NHRA thinks they can tell teams how races turn out, they must be crazy... Team owners are after sponsor deals, and whatever it takes to get to the finals, is their choice... We did it in the 1970’s and 80’s in sportsman racing.

BUT HOW DO YOU REALLY FEEL?
I am of the same thought. I say, 1 owner, 1 car per class. No exceptions Mr. Moneybags, show off, ego minded jerks that want to rule the world so they can look down on us peons of life.
That multi-car deal has ruined drag racing!
As far as I am concerned, do away with “pros” and have the real backbone of drag racing make a comeback. Do away with bracket racing and have '50 - '60s rules.
I guess since I am 65 years old, I look at it in a more realistic view.
TV coverage of drag racing is a farce and a big let down. I call it the J. Force and D. Schumacher Ego Show!
Thanks for your time.

QUALIFYING THE QUALIFIERS
My fear is not as much "team orders" as it is the fact that the big-buck teams are lobbying so hard to change qualifying to their benefit. How long will it be before some number (8? 10?) of qualifying spots are locked in, based on "owner points" a la NASCAR?
Either that or the night sessions will be done away with, the hell with the fans’ enjoyment of nitro at night. For DSR, JFR, KBR, et al, the only thing that matters is getting their cars in the show - what do they care about the fans? They only want to please their sponsors. Too bad, because if they change the qualifying format, it will kill the sport, in my opinion.
