THOSE CRAZY CANUCKS, PART DEUX
Canada has its truckers with log's & all. These people are really going to help the profile of our sport.

I just got my first issue of Garage magazine and saw (Jeff Utterback’s) name.
I must say that magazine is the biggest load of trash I have had the misfortune of investing in, ever! It reminds me of a biker bum on drugs writing!
The firesuit the girl was barely wearing looks a lot like the suit I donated to the Garlits museum, although my suit was in pristine shape when I last saw it, and this one is not.

Hello, I was wondering if ANYONE could inform as to the status of the "supposed" Broad River Dragway which was (is) being built in Union County, SC. I happen to live near the area and there's seemingly NOBODY who can tell me what's gone/going on with it.

DO WHAT IT TAKES
Jeff, You nailed it! Here in Atlanta we've had a Sports editor (Furman Bisher) at The Atlanta Constitution newspaper who for years told his staff that he did not want any coverage of drag racing in his section. This happened around 1969 after the terrible accident that happened at Yellow River Drag Strip, and we're still feeling the effects almost 40 years later.
I don't understand why the NHRA and IHRA don't have a full time person who would come into whatever city that is hosting an event and spend a few days before and after a race to do "whatever" it took $$$ to start getting more coverage in the papers and the news buildup....at times we've had a few writers that really liked drag racing and would cover it well and have some great tales to tell but the story would get canned and we would never see it. Most of the good ones who tried got fed up with it and left for somewhere where they had a little more control.
NHRA spent a ton on advertising this year here in Atlanta...and you could tell. The place was packed all weekend. Because UPS has a lot of influence here in Atlanta we have been getting a spot or two every now and then (TV) as a fill in when they were running low on news items. I used to complain but I gave up...Maybe I'll start complaining again! lol, Later,

BUYING THE FARM
Oh-oh!!! It looks like the farm is gone. John Force says “Mike Neff will be driving a car for JFR."
So apparently your prediction is not the same as John Force’s vision. Mike Neff will not be wrenching for Scelzi as another Force driver. Scelzi will be advising Neff!

ESPNEMY
Is it me or is everyone else tired of ESPN’s bull? Today was the topper. I looked at the schedule on all the guides so I could record the races from California but like normal, no drags. We, the drag fans, seem to be kicked around all the time. I know NHRA thinks ESPN’s helping their cause, but to me they just keep pissing off the fans. It's too bad we have no other way to watch other than going to all the races. That is hard to do in today’s high $ world. I'd bet I'm not the only one that feels this way. Thanks for letting me vent. *%&# ESPN

ESPENEMY, THE SEQUAL
I have not had TV since January and have recently got it back. So I was excited to watch the Seattle NHRA race. I was going to tape it and watch it later. Well, imagine my surprise when it was not played but instead they showed some old boxing instead, and I had set the VCR for 2 hours in case something went long. It amazes me that ESPN2 has so little respect for drag racing. They would not disrespect NASCAR this way. ESPN should be ashamed of the way they treat our beloved sport.
