WHAT’S IT WORTH?

How many racers have checked the news or the stock on HDP? It’s a very low volume stock with no earnings…it is almost a penny stock (under $5.00.) Boys, you are owned by a group of insiders who care nothing about racing, but about cash flow.

Sportsman racers, give it up. Get the ADRL to get involved with Sportsman racing, or go with IHRA full strength!

WONDERING TOO

Comparisons between NHRA and NASCAR (more accurately, International Speedway Corp.) continue to surface. And why not? It's apparent that the current NHRA management team has been afflicted with a severe case of "NASCAR-envy" and has copied or adapted much of what NASCAR/ISC did to propel their firm to the top of mainstream sports entertainment.

With this in mind, isn't it also interesting that an outside interest could purchase the "majority" of what was NHRA for $120 million dollars, while the NASCAR/ISC operations rest comfortably in the $1 billion-plus dollar range?

More ironic is that a form of motor racing born of illegal whiskey-running -- and many of whose early stars were convicted felons -- could climb to such lofty heights.

Like you, I was "just wondering."

SAME THING HAPPENING IN THE ANTIPODES

G'day Glen, I liked your article Smokin' Deal 101. I think it’s sad when a sport sells out for the $$$$. But the same deal is going down here in AUS at the moment ANDRA (Australian National Drag Racing Association) has just formed a new company called Drag.Ltd with three of Australia's biggest tracks.
This company is going to take over group 1 racing and its aim is to get better TV coverage and attract more sponsors.
I feel there is more going on in the Drag racing world than we are being told..
Why is this happening at the same time?

THE FANS WILL PAY IN THE END

As usual very insightful and thought provoking. I hope more fans at every level take the time to think about all of the things going on that are visible and those that are not so visible.
The interview with Mr. Lucas is just great. Let us all hope that the big guns at the top of this new pile hear what he has to say and take time to ponder and reflect.

What he says about the TV situation is most true. It is very disgusting to have the race pushed off because of some obscure game played with a ball running overtime. It is time the TV world realized that motor sports is the biggest game going world wide.

I can not help but think that at some point in time we the fans are going to have to pay for some of this "next level." The old ROI game for sure.

Keep up the good work and great reporting.
