Your article about being Force-fed too much coverage on the Force team, and lack of coverage for teams like J.R. Todd's was right on.
I also agree that I don't like Paul Page's coverage of the events. And I’m hearing the fan's dissatisfaction with Mr. Page. BUT, I've been reading message boards for year, and I remember when Marty Reid first started covering the races, and people bashed him, and I remember people bashing Bob Frey.
Now, when Mr. Reid first started covering the drag races, his lack of knowledge was very evident. I think he really improved over time, and I was enjoying his announcing along with Mike Dunn. I have always been a fan of Bob Frey's, as I don't think there's anyone on earth who can pull all those facts and figures out of the top of his head like Bob Frey can.
I think Mike Dunn does an excellent job, and I hope ESPN finds someone to announce with Mike who is Knowledgeable and enthusiastic. BUT, if Paul Page is replaced, will all the key-board crew chiefs out in message board land bash the new guy/gal, too?
