JUST LET IT ALL OUT
Right-on, right-on, right-on. The only reason that Ashley is getting so much PR is not because she's "Nitro-Child" but because she's John
FORCE'S child. I'm so sick of seeing the racing being pre-empted by the John and Ashley Force show. Who cares!!!!? I'd much rather see the time devoted to sportsman racing. These racers, (myself included) spend time and money they don't have just for the thrill of competition and the rare "Wally" if they get that lucky. We don't have "Daddy Mega-Bucks" funding our racing. Wow, talk about the "born with a silver spoon in the mouth syndrome".
As for Paul Page....Now you\'ve really got my dander up. He speaks with all the excitement and knowledge of a toilet seat!! He drones on and on as he reads the numbers off a computer screen. He misses the details of hole shots, record et\'s, crossed center lines, etc., etc., etc. He might just as well be doing a remote broadcast from his livingroom and watching a computer for the info. If it weren't for Mike Dunn bailing him out, Paul Page would look like a bigger idiot than he is. Obviously the man has no concept of the sport and feels not the least bit of passion for it. Even Marty Reid was a much better commentator and that ain’t saying much.
Bob Frey is the best there is when it comes to conveying the excitement and spectacle of our sport. His broadcasting is insightful and accurate.
Ok, nuff said, I'm in a complete lather over this and just needed to vent my frustration and disappointment with the whole mess.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY
Iagree whole heartedly with your editorial in the latest edition of Drag Racing Online. I can’t believe that the media can’t seem to recognize all that J.R. Todd has accomplished in such a short time. Even winning the first race of the 2007 season in the actual month of February¦..”Black History Month”! That was history in the making. Everybody wants to keep
looking in the past for history, which is fine, but when history is happening now, it needs to be recognized.
Thank you for having the courage to say what needed to be said, like you normally do. As for the African American media, I suspect they don’t recognize drag racing as a quality sport worthy of recognition such as the “ball” sports of football, basketball, and occasionally golf. Well, HELLO!!!, motorsports is the fastest going spectator sport in the nation. It’s time to fully recognize the only African American to win in NHRA Top Fuel.
I personally am very proud of the accomplishments J.R. Todd has made in NHRA Top Fuel and proud of the kind of person he is. Any company should be absolutely thrilled to have him represent their products to the drag racing demographic. Like you said, any other sanctioning body would be proud to have J.R. competing at any of their venues, and make a big deal of it to increase their spectator/fan base.
I have fired off letters to the editors to a few major African American publications to see where they’ve been lately.
Thanks.
