MORE ASHLEY!

My biggest problem with the broadcast, as always, was the bad sound.  Imagine a Led Zeppelin concert with the sound turned down and an idiot describing the show! I loved the attention they gave Ashley. Who knew when John came on the scene what he would accomplish, the championships, the fan following, the race shops the media attention. I could go on.

Ashley shows the same love of drag racing that John does she is stunningly beautiful articulate hilarious and she drives like a mother******. If she can pull off some success in funny car racing she will be the last pioneer in drag racing. There has never been a female funny car champion. I believe we are watching the beginning moments of a true drag racing superstar!

NO USA TODAY FOLLOW-UP?

Thought it was great that USA Today had a 4 page spread prior to Pomona. What wasn't great was that the Monday edition of the paper had an itty bitty 2-inch "Pomona results". I thought what the hey...can't they at least have an article with the rest of the motorsports page? I literally had to look 2 or 3 times to find the Pomona info. I thought USA Today was drag racing friendly?

MORE TO COME?

I hope the Winternationals coverage isn't an indicator of what we fans have to look forward to on the NHRA broadcasts this year. Sure Ashley drives a funny car but so did Shirley

Muldowney back when driving a funny car was fraught with all kinds of hazards.

Wonder what John will think if his little girl has a blower explosion ala Ron Capps a few years ago? I hope Ashley does well but we mustn't forget there are at least 46 other drivers in the pro ranks besides Ashley and her dad that deserve coverage also.

I cringed when I found out Paul Page was the lead broadcaster this year. I was hoping against hope for a broadcaster that at least had some enthusiasm and knowledge about what they were airing. If it wasn't for Mike Dunn and the pit reporters the broadcast would be a total bust. RIP Steve Evans.
Thank you.

A LITTLE MORE PRESSURE

What a great piece! I think you are on the right track to lean on the powers that be and make them recognize J.R. Todd.

WHAT THE PUCK?

Well I was reading a column titled Wing Nut Nation. I am a big Wing nut, but I found it too have nothing to do with Hockey. Go Red Wings!

The title was way misleading!!!!
