WE TRY TO HELP

As a newly licensed Super Comp Dragster driver wanting to get a car and go racing, seeing your coverage of the Sportsman Classes is encouraging for it may help as a tool for gaining helpful sponsorship.

BEECH BLANKET BINGO

I am so glad that the Hot Rod Reunion will be brought back to Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, KY. It was obvious that the spectators and participants preferred Beech Bend over Columbus. Because I have attended events at both places there is no comparison. Beech Bend has everything for this type of event for the family and Columbus is a dump and always has been.

I hope when the new contract is signed with Beech Bend park that it is long term and we won’t have to worry anymore about the location of this great event.

A COUPLE OF SIMPLE QUESTIONS

I went to the race in Pomona and crewed with a team in Comp. eliminator. I've worked with this team many times over the years starting in '98. This is the first time I've heard so many of the racers express so much frustration with the class. There were many specific complaints, but the two issues that kept coming up were: 1) why are naturally aspirated cars now competing against cars with blowers and turbos? Density altitude is crucial to everyone BUT them, and 2) why not issue the permanent CIC penalties to individuals rather than everyone who runs with them? It would be easy enough to keep track of.

Your thoughts?

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

I was a participant and winner in the 1966 AHRA Championship world point record runs at Green Valley Raceway. In all my junk I came across a program for this race in near mint condition and was wondering if there was an AHRA museum.

When will you finish your articles on AHRA that is posted on the internet?

KEEPING SCRABA STRAIGHT

Wayne, you did a very good job with this story, EXCEPT! You have to run an O2 Sensor on ANY EFI system on the market. Some use a wide band O2 and others still use a 3-wire heated version.

But the fact remains the same: the ECU needs the input from an O2 sensor to adjust the Air/Fuel mix.

Thanks for your work and keep it up.
