The doorslammer drivers and tuners of the American Drag Racing League once again provided the fans of the quickest and fastest doorslammers in the history of eighth-mile drag racing the kind of entertainment and performance that fills the grandstands to capacity at every ADRL tour stop.
At the ADRL’s Georgia Drags held at South Georgia Motorsports Park the Pro Extreme class cars delivered both the quickest and fastest eighth-mile ET’s and speeds (3.63 second and 212 mph) in the short history of that sanctioning body.
The qualifying in all of the classes were spectacular but particularly in Pro Extreme where Sheikh Khalid Al-Thani (top, right photo) of Qatar with the help of tuner “Ace” Manzo and Tim and Kim Richards led all qualifiers with a mind blowing 3.637/212.49mph pass although for a while low buck Texas Outlaws had the pass of the event with a equally stellar 3.650/206.89.
If there was ever a David vs Goliath scenario in drag racing it is the Taylor brothers and their volunteer crew versus the highly financed Al-Anabi Pro Mod team. Pro Extreme was the only class where performance was king.
