Rod Pearce made his debut for the 2009 season at the final event of the year. He set the WCOPMA’s ET and MPH records for a Nitrous assisted car with a 6.23 at 231 mph.

The first round had Kay, Pearce, Diedrich and Smith advance. The pass with Burbage and Pearce resulted in the quickest and fastest side-by-side pass in the WCOPMA and Sacramento Raceway’s history of Pro Mod racing. Pearce had an advantage of .006 off the line (.047 to .053) and they both ran identical ET’s to the hundredth, Burbage’s 6.234 to Pearce’s 6.237. Pearce won the round with a .003 MOV at the stripe…on a holeshot and set the ET and MPH record for a nitrous car in the WCOPMA.

Jay Diedrich (near lane) edged past Troy Ferry in the first round during a wild peddle fest.

In the second round Smith advanced over Pearce during a peddle fest with a 6.788 to Pearce’s 6.871. In the other match up, Kay got a lucky break as Diedrich went -.290 red on the tree while Kay lost traction almost instantly.
