In Hot Street, we saw the return of a past champion to glory as Charlie Booze qualified number one, which gave him a first round bye into the semis, where Bob Hanlon left before the tree was activated, giving Booze the green light into the finals.

Working towards Booze was Don Bowles, who took out defending champion Robbie Blankenship in the first round, and drove around Max Gross in the semis for a shot at Booze in the finals. As the tree dropped, Booze got out first and never looked back, taking the win with an 8.64 to Bowles 8.68.

Real Street saw the return of the defending champion Bruce Hemminger, who came out and took the number one qualifier spot handily with a 9.51. In eliminations; no one had anything for the nitrous small block as he earned the first round bye and took out Matt Johnson on the way to the final round.

On the other side of the ladder, Jim Pickel continued his run of good luck as he piloted his tribute car through the field. In the first round, Kevin Scott missed a gear, allowing Pickel’s 10.43 to take the stripe first, and in the next round, Matherly lit the red, giving Pickel a pass into his first final-round ever. Unfortunately, he experienced electrical issues and couldn’t get the car to the line for the final, giving Hemminger an unopposed victory.
