In the 12.00 index final Lee Edgar (above) took on Kevin Meine. Both drivers were late on the tree, but Edgar had nearly one tenth of a second advantage. At the stripe Edgar took the win in a race that was decided by just one thousandth of a second.

The 11.00 index racing had Kris Antram racing Ron Rathgeb in the final each in a Chevrolet Nova. Rathgeb had the starting line advantage, but not enough to hold off the charge of Antram. Antram ran just one hundredth of a second over the index and took the win.

The fastest of the index classes, 10.00, was the only final in the index classes decided by a single break out. Frankie Radake’s 1968 Chevrolet Camaro took out Kevin Autenrieth. Autenrieth ran eight hundredths of a second under the index, which gave the win to Radake (above).
Frankie gave the play by play of the race as he saw it, “As a racer you’re always looking for the win light, but when I looked over and was in front of him at the eighth-mile mark, I was pretty confident I had him covered.” ![]()
