Randy Walker clinched the PSCA Pro Street title by going to the second round.
He lost to eventual finals winner David Dedrickson when he blew the tires off down track.

The Pacific Street Car Association wrapped up its 2009 season with the final points race at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana near Los Angeles the first weekend of November. Although some of the PSCA’s prominent racers decided not to run this event in order to save their parts for the Nov. 19-22 Street Car Super Nationals at Las Vegas, the cars and drivers who were in attendance put on a great qualifying and eliminations show.

Giuseppe Gentile boils the hides on the pre-race burnout.

The star of the show at the World Finals had to be Pro Street winner Giuseppe Gentile and his new 2008 twin-turbocharged, big block Ford-equipped  Mustang Cobra Jet that laid down speeds of 224+, 231+., 230+ and the now new PSCA speed record of 232.22 mph in the finale.

Gentile qualified seventh in a stellar field that included hitters such as John Scialpi in his venerable ’57 Chevy shoebox, number-one qualifier Randy Walker in his very fast ’74 El Camino, and Mike Maggio’s ’63  Vette.  Other Chevy qualifier included Tony Marine’s ’57 Bel Air, Mack Moffit’s ’53 ‘Vette, Joe Alsworth ’38 business coupe, and Monty Berney’s blown ’55.
