In the first round of TAFC against Brian Thiel, John Lombardo Jr. turned in a career best and the quickest run of the weekend to take the win with a 5.596 at 251.53 despite a .115 RT.

In Comp Eliminator it was defending event champion and the 2008 NHRA Lucas Oil National Champion Dan Fletcher taking the trophy over Ross Wilson, who turned on the red bulb.

Jody Lang faced off against his brother Toby in the final of Stock Eliminator, the fourth time they have raced each other. Jody took the win, his 17th national event win of his career. Jody’s N/SA Chevy Malibu wagon ran 13.178 at 96.79 on a 13.15 dial while Toby’s G/SA Chevelle broke out with an 11.937 on his 11.95 dial. Jody now holds a 3-1 lead in the brother rivalry.
