The 2nd Annual Nitro Funny Car Classic was held Oct. 24-26 at Charlie Allen's Firebird International Raceway near Phoenix.

Sixteen members of the Nostalgia Funny Car Association. were in action on Friday night and they all got one hit at the track.

Josh Crawford in his Mach 1 Ford Mustang tuned by the legendary Bob Brooks had the car set up just right and took the number one qualifying spot.

Lee Paul Jennings in the rebuilt and improved “Code Red” Chevy Camaro was third followed by Mike Savage in Jim Broom's Candies & Hughes Barracuda and Dennis LaCharite in his “Back in Black” GTO.

Fifth spot was held down by Tim Boychuck in his and Ron Hodgon’s Castrol Troy Lee Design's Pontiac Firebird. Boychuk decided to race here instead of at the IHRA Rockingham race since he was that high up in the points in Top Fuel dragster, plus he said he is having more fun racing nostalgia AA/FC.
