In the eight-car funny car field, the battle of the Plymouth Arrows saw Krabill in the “Pedaler overpowering Pedregon’s “Joe Pisano” flopper ” 5.907/243.24 to 6.015/224.60. Savage’s 5.899/240.57 run in the “Candies & Hughes” Cuda won over LaVoie’s new, unpainted Satellite GTX running 5.945 at 239.61 mph.

The surprise of this round was Josh Crawford’s Mustang taking the win light over newly crowned Heritage Series Champ Garrett Bateman. At the hit of the throttle Bateman experienced severe tire shake until about 100 feet, then swerved, going up on one tire and moving into Crawford’s lane.

The last pair of funnies had Canadian Boychuk driving the “Troy Lee Design”'77 Firebird running an off pace 6.025 242.13 over a tire-smoking Austin in the “Northwest Hitter”.

Under the lights in Nitro Funny Car at Famoso, number two qualifier Kris Krabill drove Gary Turner’s “Pedaler” to another victory over newcomer Josh Crawford’s ’69 Mustang, who fouled out prior to the tree being activated. In other final rounds of racing, Bill Wayne took the A/Fuel class final with a
holeshot win over Garry Wheeler Jr. with Wayne running 6.491/209.44 to
