Rickie Jones and Bob Panella on a qualifying run. Jones defeated Jerry Haas in the first round and then lost to Tom Hammonds in the second. Panella was put out in the first round by Gaines.

David Beckley was at the wheel of Vinnie Deceglie’s Pro Stocker, but was eliminated in the first round.

Greg Stanfield got past Roger Brogdon and Johnny Gray before bowing to eventual winner Johnson in the semis.
