After five rounds of racing, the Super Sedan final came down to a duel between Paul Doeblien’s Falcon ute (far lane) and Allan Grimsey’s Capri. The race was decided on the start-line as Grimsley’s 0.413 gave him three hundredths on his opponent, so at the finish-line his .039 over 9.229 put away a closer 0.028 over 9.328.

In a David and Goliath Super Street final (well, engine wise) the diminutive four cylinder powered red Datsun 1600 sedan of Adam Hackett in the far lane takes off after the V8 powered ’63 Ford Cortina of Trevor Davis. While both left on tardy lights at the finish-line, Hackett’s 0.10 over 12.01 was enough to catch and pass his opponent’s 0.11 over 12.30.

In the Competition Bike final the win was already decided here, as David Rundmann red lights his chances away on his Suzuki GSXR while top qualifier Ross Lemberg waits for his clean green light. For the record his 8.08/149.90 on his C/CB Suzuki was enough to take the win over a fouling 9.44/142.90.

The final of Modified Bike, like the Comp Bike final was won on the start-line. Malcolm Brooks 1300 Suzuki leaves on a lazy .518 light that when matched to a 0.10 over 9.95, was no match for his opponent Rick Rogers. Rogers on his GPZ Kawasaki had a solid .422 light that with a 0.002 over 9.512 would never keep Rogers at bay.
