Craig Michael went road racing in his “Vegas Heat” alt and did a great job of driving as the car did not crash while he had it up on two wheels! In the other lane would have been Generalao, but he had kicked the rods in “Nanook” on the burnout. Hope then lined up against Generalao, who got the victory with a 6.728/170.58, as he drove away from the “Rat Trap,” which popped the blower and turned in an 8.265.

The last pair were going for the Wally and low e.t. The ‘Nitro Warrior” driven by Mike Boyd left the sailor on the docks in another time zone as Chris Bennett was late on the tree and all he saw was the back of the Warrior as Boyd ran an on-and-off-the-throttle 5.631 to back up his earlier 5.43 at 273.22 mph. The team was jumping up and down with joy as they did not know that they were getting a NHRA Wally until I brought it over to take the winners circle photos! (It seems handing out Wally’s will be as close as I get to winning one in my lifetime!)
