Local driver Carl Cannavo had some major health problems and at one time didn’t know if he could ever drive again. Originally from New York City Carl has been a mainstay in bracket racing at the Strip. In the final he defeated the Jerdog Camaro of Jerry Hors. Carl’s 8.065 (dial in of 8.04) defeated Jerry’s close 8.959 (dial in of 8.90).
TROPHY
Young Jon Irving from nearby Boulder City, Nev., swept the Trophy class over a good turnout of competitors. He drove the family Corvette to a 13.420 (dial in of 13.36) over Ray Hadreth’s Chevelle at 12.05 (dial in of 11.62).
FORD MUSTANG MADNESS
Dan Marciano seems to own this class as his Mustang was dialed in at 10.63 and ran a 10.71 to narrowly defeat Scott Dool's Mustang at 11.611.
