FIA Pro Stock Car

Since getting his hands on a Rick Jones Cobalt at the start of the season, Richard “Nixxon” Sundblom has been one to watch in Pro Stock qualifying, but has yet to translate his low ETs into a race day win. Well, Mantorp saw a different story, with 5th on the ladder being a tenth behind Jimmy Alund’s best, but Sundblom ran past Michael Callin, Alund and Michael Malmgren to take a well deserved win and keep the championship chase alive going into the final round for the class at Santa Pod in September.

Early season struggles with their clutch setup had dropped Michael Malmgren and the Lahega GTO off the radar temporarily among the challengers in Pro Stock. Things went a whole lot better at their home race with Malmgren qualifying second with a 6.887 (two hundredths behind Alund), and raceday wins over Jan Palmquist and Tommy Leindahl gave him a considerable jump up the points table but still someway behind Alund and Sundblom.
