UEM Top Fuel Bike

After a somewhat abortive start to his title defence at the Main Event, Ian King bounced back to championship form at the Nitro Nationals, qualifying low with a 6.538/207.13 and then putting the Portable Shade Puma into the 6.4s throughout eliminations (a semi final best of 6.446 being what we think is another class track record) and a two tenths holeshot over Rikard Gustafsson, his main championship rival, was more than enough to take the event win with a 6.470 ET ticket.

It was good to see Peter Anderson Strom back onboard his fuel bike after the excursion into the crash barrier at Mantorp Park last season. Although Stromma wasn’t able to get the bike down into the mid to low sixes, the runs over the weekend gave him a semi-final finish and some data to work with for the remaining Scandinavian rounds of the UEM tour.
