Springspeed saw the competition debut of Tim Mugridge’s superbly detailed 68 Camaro in the Super Modified ranks and track time will soon see the team into the sevens that are required to run with the rest of the single carb’ed class.
The Outlaw Anglias always put on a fun show, and Dave Sidaway’s big block Fordson van is a typical example of the wheelstanding action seen in the class.
Caught in the staging lanes, Jason Weir’s Plymouth Surburban (near) and Steve Pateman’s Vauxhall Calibra (far) demonstrate two of the extremes seen in B&H Automotive Street Eliminator, the station wagon being equipped with a Procharger whilst Pateman’s ride has a 706 ci motor with gobfuls of gigglegas. They are still both chasing Splinter’s twin turboed Cougar at the moment though, the latter cranking out a stunning 7.7 in qualifying but was unable to get sufficient track time to back the number up for a new class record.
