CONCLUSION
Once again the IHRA proved that you don’t have to race a quarter of a mile to have a good drag race. A Standing Room Only crowd on Saturday night evidently didn’t mind the fact that it was “just” eighth-mile racing. Every racer we talked to about the race confirms that they tear up less equipment on the shorter tracks. The real test will be when we see what the fans and racers have to say after the IHRA’s next eighth-mile event.
