“Just incredible,” said the Chicago-area resident. “This U.S. Army team just keeps making magic. After clinching the title yesterday, I don’t think anyone would have blamed us if we weren’t totally on our game today. But, that’s not how we operate. Like our Soldiers, we expect to be perfect every time we come to work.”
Schumacher had to get past the likes of Joe Hartley, Clay Millican, Larry Dixon and Rod Fuller on the way to collecting another event trophy.

“That was not an easy road for us,” he said. “In fact, we had to change engines twice before we even got to Fuller in the finals. For some reason, we had some mechanical issues today. But, in the end, all that matters is that we were standing on the top step in victory lane.”
In addition to the possibility of setting the single season win record in Pomona, Schumacher will also try to break Anderson’s single season round win mark. Currently, he’s one round win short of tying Anderson’s 76 round win record, which was also set in ’04.
“The way I look at it is that we might as well put an exclamation point on the year,” said Schumacher. “It would definitely be fitting to end what has been a dream season by setting a couple more records.”
