In a very scary incident Eric Gousdwaard in this Chev small block powered bucket started his burnout while a track official was still mopping up a spill from the previous run. As can be seen it is almost impossible to see ahead and luckily the sprightly sweeper jumped out of the way, though at this angle the car could have ended up any which way.

This olde skool yellow Chev powered 34 Ford of Neil Dyson was a sight for sore eyes in a Modified field dominated by T Buckets and dragsters. Qualifying 17th in a field of 29 cars with an 8.51 he fell in the second round with an 8.58 on an 8.53 when his .112 light was a tad tardy.

Ross Sachre was in a class of his own in Super Stock qualifying with a 0.79 under the index 8.53 though this qualifying run nearly saw the red Trans Am nearly vault the wall. During eliminations he was only pushed into the eights on one occasion and with Alan Albeni red lighting in the final a 9.03 saved his index for another day.
