Of the three Nitro Funny Cars that ran down track, the Speedghost team of Patrik Pers had the most to smile about, a 5.4 second taking out the top end lights after taking the long way down the track, first aiming at the barrier at the launch and then weaving wildly with only a brief drop in the header flames.

Paolo Andreini ended up as the winner of the TSDS Top Doorslammer bracket (a pretty much anything goes so long as it’s got doors kind of deal). Andreini’s phenomenal twin turbo truck qualified 3rd with a 6.595 (the quickest turbo’ed pass in Europe) and then stayed in the six sixties to outlast the rest of the eight car field, defeating Benny Strand’s Cutlass (equipped with an IHRA mountain motor and a heavy dose of giggle gas) with a 6.664 to Strand’s 6.856.

Although Kenneth Feldthusen redlit in the first round of TSDS Competition, the 6.651 that flashed up on the scoreboards represented a new personal best for the North Race AA/A team by just a shade under a tenth, furthering establishing Feldthusen’s position as the fastest Alky Altered in Europe.
