UEM Pro Stock Bike

After a tale of woe at Mantorp Park (how about your awning blowing away, the support vehicle blowing up and then wiping out a new Vance & Hines motor) Anders Abrahamsson was all smiles after the Gardermoen round. Abrahamsson improved from his third spot 7.361 qualifier in each round of eliminations, with a 7.345, 7.318 and a 7.301/186 taking care of Fredrik Fredlund, Anders Jacobsson and Tom Tinndahn respectively to the delight of the Motospeed camp, who have had a wretched season trying to defend Abrahamsson’s 2006 title.

The rest of the Pro Stock Bike field were worried what would happen when Tom Tinndahn started to up the revs on his Buell. Qualifying in Norway demonstrated they had every right to be as the Danish rider rumbled to a 7.175 and then a 7.165 to head the field by over a tenth and inevitably set a new UEM Pro Stock Bike ET record. Tinndahn curiously dropped into the 7.3s throughout eliminations and a 7.333 wasn’t enough to get around Abrahamsson despite a very impressive 192 mph top end charge. The 7.0s are beckoning.

After a few bouts of severe tireshake, local lass Siw Nystad was relieved to get past the tree without a dose of the wobbles in her Rune Fjeld owned car, much to the delight of the massed ranks of the Siw Supporters club, although the departure of the blower belt at half track stopped what would have been the best of her three test passes.
