On one of the few Saturday nights not taken up by tight NASCAR Late Model racing on Irwindale’s fast ½ mile asphalt oval, the 1/8 mile Irwindale Dragstrip promoted a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of drag racing on a once-in-a-lifetime date; 7/07/07. Some very cool drag cars showed up to pound the track with a handful of restorations trailered in from the nearby Wally Parks Motorsports Museum and a group of fuel Cacklecars that arrived to give the fans in the stands a strong dose of nitro.
