Frankie Taylor was clearly excited in greeting his teammates after running a stellar 3.95 to beat Bil Clanton in round one of eliminations. After qualifying sixth at 4.00, Taylor went 3.95, 3.96 and 3.97 in a losing semi-final effort against eventual race winner Bubba Stanton. |

Georgia’s Bil Clanton put his “Big Money” ’53 Studebaker into the Pro Extreme show in 11th place with a 4.07 qualifying pass and though he improved to 4.03/180.00 in the opening round of eliminations it was no match for the 3.95 by Frankie Taylor in the opposite lane.
