Steve Nichols has been bringing his Mill Road Boys ’70 Camaro all the way from Newark, Delaware for the past few years, it’s now the quickest and fastest Chevrolet-powered nostalgia nitro flopper after nailing a second round 6.182 at 222.66 under tuning consultant Gene Amaya.  With that second round effort Nichols was assured a final round berth and went on to defeat Arizona’s Mike Adams in the final.

Jim Broome’s Tucson-based Speed Sport Cuda with Mike Savage at the wheel ran a best 6.474 at 215.51 MPH.  A fuel leak in Saturday’s second round prevented the team from advancing.
