NHRA Quotes from Pomona

The NHRA’s much-anticipated 2007 opened Feb. 7-11, with the 47th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts Winternationals at historic Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, CA. Top Fuel by Funny Car veteran Whit Bazemore, and many new sponsor/car and driver/crew chief combinations.

Overnight rain delayed the start of Sunday’s eliminations about two-and-a-half hours to just before 1:30 p.m. and when the race was completed nearly six hours later, J.R. Todd had prevailed in Top Fuel, Gary Scelzi won in Funny Car, and Greg Anderson earned the win in Pro Stock.

As always, DRO will wade through the dozens of team and NHRA press releases generated at each national event this year, searching for quotes from drivers and crew members that truly tell the story from an insider’s viewpoint. This team is unbelievable and they've made the transition so easy. My car is perfect.”— Whit Bazemore gushing with praise as he began his official  transition from driving Funny Cars to Top Fuel dragsters at Pomona
